During the "Karma" singer's final Eras Tour concert in Vancouver, Canada, on December 8, she gave a special nod to her fans by changing the lyrics to "Long Live" during an acoustic performance.
At the piano, Taylor switched the lines of Speak Now from "It was the end of a decade / But the start of an age," to "It was the end of an era / But the start of an age."
The performance was sentimental, as Taylor also mixed the iconic song-which she often dedicates to fans-with The Tortured Poets Department's "The Manuscript" and Reputation's "New Year's Day".
Each song mimics the end of the tour, with Taylor singing lines like, "There's glitter on the floor after the party" and "The only thing left is the manuscript, one last souvenir from my trip to your shores / Every now and then I reread the manuscript, but the story isn't mine anymore."
And while Taylor has yet to address the end of her record-breaking tour, which first kicked off in March 2023, she has previously reflected on how important this moment is in her life.
"It's the most proud and happy I've ever felt, and the most creative and free I've ever felt," Taylor said of the tour in a 2023 interview with Time, which also noted the amount of space it took up in her life. "I know I'm going to perform on that stage, whether I'm sick, hurt, heartbroken, uncomfortable, or stressed. It's part of my identity as a human being now."
Indeed, Taylor-who does hours of cardio and dance workouts to prepare and maintain her fitness for the show-also says that the end of this chapter in her career feels impossible to her.
"It has taken over everything," she mused while onstage this summer in Liverpool. "I think I used to have a hobby, but I don't know what it is anymore, because what I do when I'm not on stage is sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mixes, and think of what you might like to hear."
The 14-time Grammy winner-who has released a concert film, two re-recorded albums, a new LP, and a romance with Travis Kelce in the midst of the Eras Tour-may now be telling herself it's time to go, but she left a final memento for her fans to remember this incredible show: The Eras Tour book.
In her announcement for the book, which is available everywhere, she added, "This tour has been the most amazing experience and I knew I wanted to memorialize the memories we made together in a special way."
