Surabaya, AAD Today - The controversy surrounding Gus Miftah has not subsided even though he has apologized and decided to resign from the position of Presidential Special Envoy for Religious Harmony and Discussion of Religious Facilities.

Background of the Controversy

After comments emerged from netizens who claimed to be hurt, an old video suddenly spread where Gus Miftah mocked the physique of Yati Pesek, an old and famous artist.

In the video, Gus Miftah vulgarly mocks Yati Pesek's physique and insinuates that she has a job:

"I am grateful that Bude Yati is ugly and chose to be a sinden. If she was beautiful, she would be a lo***," Gus Miftah said with a big laugh.

Yati Pesek's response

This video went viral again after Erick Strada shared a voice note from Yati Pesek regarding the incident. In her voice recording, Yati Pesek expressed deep sadness:

"I came home from the Miftah show just alone crying in the room. Then my son wanted to hit Miftah, but I didn't allow it," she said in Javanese.

Furthermore, Yati Pesek added: "No son, let it be. I want to ask God for a trial. If we judge, the result will be nothing. But if God judges, this is how it is. Just watch. It won't take long. In about two years, it will finally happen."

Yati Pesek's Wise Attitude

The artist, who has been involved in the art world for decades, emphasized her attitude:

"Yes, I just keep quiet even though my heart hurts. Yes, I have been an artist since I was a child until I became an old man, so I have maintained my culture."

Despite being worried about the re-viralization of the old video, Yati Pesek remains positive. "Who knows, God wants to give goodness to all. If you talk, be polite, don't let the younger generation follow bad things like this," she concluded.

Support from Artists

One of the most highlighted comments was the response from comedian Wendi Cagur:

"I feel you mas. I was sad to see my aunt Yati Pesek treated like that. Hopefully the aunt is always healthy and given a spacious heart. Ij syaa allah is given multiple rewards for your patience. Although I know you must be really disappointed. Greetings to my aunt, mas," wrote Wendi Cagur.
